» Hieu market needs to be rebuilt soon
With a scale of 500 kiosks, in previous years, Hieu market was not only the largest traditional shopping center of Thai Hoa town, but also a trading and trading hub of the Northwest region of Nghe An. The market plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Thai Hoa town. Desolate is an easily recognizable image here. From fabric, cosmetics to shoes, clothes… all share the same situation of no buyers. Due to sluggish sales, 1/3 of the businesses at Hieu market are forced to close their kiosks or put them up for sale. The rest are trying to stay because they don’t know what to do without selling.
Also a long-time trader at Hieu market, Ms. Nguyen Thi Viet expressed: "I have been trading here for nearly 10 years. In previous years, I was still able to sell goods, but in the past few years, I have not been able to sell anything. In the morning, I open my shop and sit around chatting, but no one in the whole row sells anything. I hope the government will reduce monthly taxes to help us, because doing business like this makes life very difficult for small traders."

There are many reasons for this situation. In fact, it is not because of the decrease in consumer demand but because there are too many forms of trading appearing for people to choose from. Among them, online trading and mobile sales points take place everywhere, even in residential areas for sale. Not to mention that these forms of business are always innovated with "shocking" promotions and home delivery; this type is being chosen by many people because it is simple and convenient.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam - Head of Hieu Market Management Board said: The situation of small traders not being able to trade has also affected us a lot, the source of income to pay for the brothers in the Market Management Board depends on the tax collected from small traders, but many small traders have closed their kiosks and asked for tax exemption. We hope that the authorities at all levels will soon have a solution to help small traders in Hieu Market.
