According to RT, the measures mentioned by Mr. Steven Mnuchin could include closing China's access to the US financial system.

“We are sending a clear message that any country that trades with North Korea – we can consider it as having no business relationship with the United States,” Reuters news agency quoted Mr. Mnuchin as saying at a conference in New York on September 12.

Mr. Mnuchin also said that China agreed to "historic" sanctions against North Korea in a vote at the United Nations Security Council on September 11.

Previously, US President Donald Trump also said he was considering ending trade relations with any country trading with North Korea.

On the morning of September 12 (Vietnam time), all 15 members of the Security Council, including Russia and China, unanimously approved the ninth round of sanctions against Pyongyang, in response to North Korea's sixth nuclear test.
