BMW X7: The all-new luxury SUV

BMW enthusiasts will no longer have to settle for the 5+2 seat versions of the X5, as the German automaker has delivered with the true 7-seater X7.

The BMW X7 will be BMW's first model to feature a three-row interior with full seven-seat capacity for adults, officially unveiled as a concept at the upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Named the BMW X7 iPerformance, the vehicle looks quite complete and appears ready for production. BMW is only showcasing the concept as a subtle way to reveal information.

From the images, the BMW X7 iPerformance appears to be roughly the same size as the Cadillac Escalade. It features a large grille, vertical accents on the front air intakes, and a host of gleaming metal accessories. On the sides, the door handles are recessed into the bodywork, and there are charging ports on the front fenders, along with large alloy wheels and a panoramic glass sunroof. The rear bumper incorporates air vents, and the taillights have a sleek design.

The car's interior is designed in a style distinct from the exterior, exuding luxury and sophistication with two-tone leather seats, wood trim, and bright accents. Modern technologies are included, such as a fully digital instrument cluster, the iDrive infotainment system, and a futuristic-looking steering wheel.

It is predicted that the BMW X7 iPerformance may be equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain similar to the 740e iPerformance. This powertrain includes a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric motor, and a 9.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The production version of the BMW X7 is expected to have at least three different engine options. First is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder gasoline engine producing 335 horsepower. Second is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine generating 445 horsepower. Additionally, there will be a BMW X7 xDrive 40d with a diesel engine.
