Responding to Nghe An Newspaper reporter, Coach Nguyen Huu Thang said: “This is the time when I want to rest after a period of stressful work. I have no need to defend myself against rumors like this.
I just want to say that I have absolute trust in everything that the U22 Vietnam players have shown on the field. I have absolute trust in all members of the team. No matter what anyone says, that is their right. I affirm that 100% of the current players are the best and absolutely clean. I am willing to take all my honor, everything I have to bet with public opinion on suspicions of match-fixing. If anyone has that ideology and is involved in that matter, I will retire from football."
