A model of the US Air Force's 6th generation fighter jet appears in a new propaganda video by Lockheed Martin.

Defense industry company Lockheed Martin on September 15 posted a video reviewing 75 years of development and innovation in military aviation technology through the aircraft models it produced for the US Air Force, according to Aviatinist.

At the end of the video, Lockheed Martin introduces a model of a 6th generation fighter that promises to replace the F-22 stealth fighter to become the most modern and powerful fighter of the US military.

Lockheed Martin's new aircraft design has a nose similar to the F-22 Raptor, while the tail and wings are similar to the Northrop Grumman YF-23 fighter prototype launched in 1986 but not selected for mass production by the US Air Force.

According to Scout, the US's 6th generation fighter will likely be deployed in 2030. The aircraft will possess new generation stealth technology, advanced electronic warfare systems, sophisticated computer processors and algorithms, be equipped with hypersonic weapons and be covered with "smart skin" with synchronously integrated sensors.

The new fighter will also develop the ability to fire hypersonic weapons, laser weapons and launch electronic attacks.
