(Baonghean.vn) - There are many cases of disappearances in the world that, to this day, people still have never understood what happened to these mysterious disappearances.

1. Air Force LieutenantFelix Moncla"disappear" into thin air

In 1953, while Felix was stationed at Kinross Air Force Base in Michigan, he spotted an unidentified flying object on radar and decided to chase it in an F-89 Scorpion.

On radar, Moncla was flying at 500 mph and as he approached the object, radar observers were surprised to see Moncla's F-89 merge with the mysterious object and then immediately disappear even though it was still within radar range.

Multiple searches were fruitless, no wreckage or sign of impact was found where he disappeared. Many questions remain unanswered, but one thing is certain: Moncla was never seen again after that chase.

2. Ghost Passenger on MV Joyita

The MV Joyita was later found.

The MV Joyita was also considered "unsinkable" like the Titanic, but after 37 days since setting sail on October 3, 1955, people found the Joyita drifting ashore in Fiji in a half-sunken state, all 25 passengers and crew missing.

Four tons of supplies including food, medical supplies, and fuel were missing when they searched the wreck. The radio was on the international distress channel in case of an accident. All the lifeboats were missing, and most notably, there were blood stains all over the ship.

Recently, a professor in Auckland named David Wright explained that the Joyita may have hit an obstacle and started to sink, because the radio was broken so they could not send a distress signal, many people had to leave the ship and jump into the sea but most of them drowned and were eaten by sharks. As for the blood stains on the boat, there is still no satisfactory explanation.

3. Federick Valentich and the mysterious plane

In 1978, Federick Valentich, the pilot of a Cessna 182L, reported a UFO sighting to air traffic control while en route to King Island, Australia. According to the recording, Federick said: “That strange object is hovering over my plane again! I repeat, it is hovering in the air and it is not an airplane!”

Immediately after, Federick’s plane crashed and disappeared from radar completely. Although there was much skepticism about Federick’s report, the last 17 seconds of the recording were filled with strange metallic clanking sounds before Federick disappeared with his plane, which no one could explain.

So far the most plausible explanation is that Valentich was abducted by aliens, although many scientists have tried to refute this idea.

4. The hijacker "disappeared" from the sky

That was actually the pseudonym given to an unknown hijacker who hijacked a Boeing 727 en route from Portland to Oregon and Seattle on November 24, 1971. He demanded $200,000 and, upon receiving it, took a parachute and jumped out of the plane. That was the last time anyone saw Cooper.

Several searches were organized but all were fruitless. One suspect's niece, Marla, testified that she saw her uncle come to her house one night after the robbery, seriously injured, before leaving. Marla also provided photos and belongings of the suspect for police to compare fingerprints, but the results did not match the hijacker DB Cooper. The investigation was then at a standstill.

5. Mysterious disappearances in the Bennington Triangle

The "Long Trail" is the site of a number of mysterious disappearances.

This is a series of three mysterious disappearances that occurred within 30 years from 1920-1950 in Bennington, Vermont.

The first incident was on December 1, 1949, when a veteran named James Tetford was sleeping on a coach to St. Albans with 14 witnesses. As the coach neared St. Albans, everyone looked towards where James was sitting and he had disappeared.

The second incident was on December 1, 1946, Paula Welden disappeared while hiking. Several people saw her on the way to Glastenbury Mountain on the Long Trail and asked her to come along, but she refused. When everyone arrived, Paula had disappeared without a trace.

The third case was in October 1950 when an eight-year-old boy named Paul Jepson disappeared from his family farm. Jepson’s mother said she left him playing near a pig pen while she tended the animals. When she finished, Jepson was gone. Extensive searches of the area were carried out, but to no avail.

To this day, Stonehedge is one of the 7 mysterious wonders from the Middle Ages, open to visitors to camp and hold religious ceremonies. Until August 1971, when a group of wanderers came to camp at the center of Stonehedge. That night, a storm suddenly arose with many lightning strikes around the Stonehedge circle, witnessed by a farmer and a police officer. A large lightning bolt struck directly in the center of the circle, creating a bright blue light.

Both the farmer and a police officer had to shield their eyes from the bright light, and they could hear the screams of the group of stragglers. After the light faded, they ran into the center of the circle and saw only burned-out tents, but no bodies of any of them.

Many people believe that the lightning was so powerful that it burned the group to ashes, others say they were abducted by a UFO, and some even say that the lightning created a hole in space and sucked them in.

7. The Lost Inuit Village

The people of an Inuit village disappeared overnight.

On a cold December night in 1930, Joe Labelle stopped at an Inuit village near Lake Ajikuni when he was shocked to find that all 2,000 people living there had disappeared. He went straight to the town post office and reported the news to the Canadian cavalry.

When they arrived, they found some pots of warm food and many clothes that were quite new, meaning that the people had not shown any signs of migration, and that they had probably only recently disappeared. Many graves around the village had been dug up, and there was also a pack of sled dogs that had starved to death buried under the snow. The government and the police were mostly surprised, there were almost no traces or evidence, no practical clues for them to investigate further. To this day, what happened to the people here is still a mystery.

On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia to Beijing Capital International Airport, China.

Many theories have been put forward, including conspiracy theories. However, these theories have no solid evidence and the mystery remains unsolved.

What we know so far is that some of the plane's transponders were manually turned off, and the flight changed course sharply. During this time, there were no calls from passengers or crew, nor were there any signals sent by the pilots. The wreckage of the plane has not yet been found.
