5 of the most impressive supercars recently launched worldwide.
At the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, manufacturers showcased their top-of-the-line supercars, with Mercedes AMG presenting Project One and Lamborghini introducing the Aventador S Roadster.
1. Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster

Developed from the Lamborghini Aventador S Coupe, the Roadster version differs only in its two-piece carbon fiber roof, which is manually operated. The overall design, technological features, and engine remain unchanged. The EGO driving mode is a new feature of the Aventador S series, allowing drivers to customize settings to their personal driving style.
At the heart of the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster remains the mid-mounted 6.5-liter V12 engine, producing 740 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. The Aventador S Roadster is expected to be priced at $460,000 in the US market.
2. Audi R8 V10 RWS

In its home country, Audi has just launched the special R8 V10 RWS rear-wheel-drive supercar, with a limited production run of only 999 units for both Coupe and Spyder versions. The R8 V10 RWS features electronic stability control, power steering, and a specially designed chassis for more efficient and agile handling.
The Audi R8 V10 RWS is easily recognizable by its striking red paint stripe running from front to back. It boasts a 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 540 horsepower. Each R8 V10 RWS will feature a “1 of 999” badge in front of the passenger seat. The starting price for the Audi R8 V10 RWS in Europe ranges from $168,500 to $184,150.

The Ferrari Portofino replaces the alluring California convertible that has been a sensation for the past 10 years. The Portofino's design is inspired by its older sibling, the 812 Superfast. While still using the rigid chassis of the California, it is lighter and more robust.
The new supercar is longer, lower, and wider than the California. The Ferrari Portofino is equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 591 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Ferrari states that the Portofino accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 320 km/h.
4. Aspark Owl

Aspark, a Japanese electric car manufacturer, recently unveiled the world's fastest electric supercar, the Aspark Owl, at Frankfurt Motor Show. Developed since 2014, the Aspark Owl features a durable and lightweight carbon fiber rear diffuser, large exterior mirrors mounted on the A-pillars, and all-wheel drive.
This car is lightweight, weighing only 860 kg thanks to its carbon fiber body and ultra-light magnesium alloy wheels. This electric supercar is equipped with an electric motor producing approximately 430 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque. While the power output isn't particularly impressive, combined with its light weight, height of less than 1 meter, and highly aerodynamic design, the Aspark Owl can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 2 seconds.
5. Mercedes AMG Project One

After more than a year of teasing its supercar project, Mercedes has officially unveiled its most expensive supercar yet – Project One. The Mercedes AMG Project One is the world's first production car to use a powertrain from Formula 1 racing cars. The Project One's body is crafted from a single piece of carbon fiber. This supercar uses four electric motors and a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 gasoline engine, achieving a total power output of up to 1,000 horsepower. Mercedes AMG claims that this model is capable of exceeding 350 km/h and accelerating from 0-200 km/h in a single minute.It takes a full 6 seconds.
Additionally, a completely new 8-speed automatic transmission was developed specifically for Project One. Mercedes AMG produced only 275 units of Project One, priced at $2.7 million each. All were sold before the car was officially unveiled.
