Russian President Putin congratulates the head of state of Vietnam on the occasion of National Day September 2

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on the occasion of Vietnam's Independence Day, expressing confidence in the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the Kremlin press service said.

"The Russian President expressed confidence that the implementation of the agreements reached during recent talks with Mr. Tran Dai Quang in Moscow will promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of the people of Russia and Vietnam, and strengthen peace, security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region," the message said.

The President also noted that Russia-Vietnam relations are based on good traditions of friendship and are developing in the spirit of comprehensive strategic cooperation.
