A warehouse in an alley on Bui Vien Street (Ho Chi Minh City) caught fire in the early morning, causing tourists and residents to panic and run away.

According to initial information, in the early morning of August 13, many residents living in alley 84 Bui Vien Street (Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1) detected a burning smell. At this time, many tourists and people were trading and eating on Bui Vien street, panicked and ran away.

Many people quickly used mini fire extinguishers to try to approach the fire to put it out but failed. Inside the warehouse contained many flammable materials so the fire quickly spread and flared up fiercely.

Upon receiving the news, the District 1 Fire Police Department mobilized more than 5 fire trucks and dozens of soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. Because the fire occurred in a deep alley, it was difficult to put out the fire.

Authorities had to temporarily block Bui Vien and De Tham streets, and extend water pipes deep inside to spray water to put out the fire.

The fire was brought under control more than an hour later. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but the entire warehouse and many of the belongings and properties inside were burned down.

The cause and damage of the fire are still being investigated, counted and clarified by the authorities.
