Vietnam Red Cross Society gives gifts to 100 Nghe An households affected by storm

(Baonghean.vn)- On September 20, the working delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society visited, presented gifts, and encouraged 100 households affected by storm No. 10 in Cua Lo Town.

The recent storm No. 10 caused severe damage to people in some coastal wards of Cua Lo town; killing one person in Nghi Hai ward, seriously injuring another, 236 houses, 180 kiosks had their roofs blown off and collapsed; 1,000 m of coastal embankment and some other structures were severely damaged, and many trees were broken.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Red Cross Society presented 100 gifts to households affected by storm No. 10 in Nghi Hoa and Nghi Hai wards; each gift was worth 1 million VND and 500 cartons of mineral water and fresh milk.

Representatives of the Provincial Red Cross Society also visited, encouraged, and presented 3 million VND to the family of Ms. Dao Thi Thuc (83 years old) in Hai Trung block, Nghi Hai ward (Cua Lo town), who died in an accident while overcoming the consequences of the storm.

These gifts have practical meaning to support and encourage people affected by storms and floods to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives./.
