Raising people's awareness of personal hygiene and disease prevention environment

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 21, the Provincial Center for Preventive Medicine held a conference to summarize the movement "Patriotic hygiene to improve people's health" in the period of 2012 - 2016 and deploy tasks for the period of 2017 - 2021.

In order to raise awareness, change personal hygiene and environmental hygiene behaviors, and increase the rate of people using clean water in recent times, the Provincial Center for Preventive Medicine has coordinated with 21 districts and cities in the area to organize extensive communication programs such as: National Week of Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation, Handwashing Day with Soap, Patriotic Hygiene Day; with diverse forms such as hanging banners, organizing cleaning, propaganda, organizing competitions, distributing leaflets...

In addition, the center also cooperates with non-governmental organizations (IDE, SNV) to organize training courses to improve communication capacity, community-led total sanitation, construction techniques, and use of sanitation facilities for village and hamlet officials...

After 5 years of implementing the movement "Patriotic hygiene to improve people's health", the Provincial Center for Preventive Medicine has implemented synchronous and effective solutions, thanks to which there have been no infectious diseases in the province, criteria on clean water and hygiene have met the set targets; basic environmental sanitation has been ensured.

In the coming time, the Provincial Center for Preventive Medicine will continue to integrate the activities of the Patriotic Hygiene Movement and national target programs and projects. Coordinate with departments and organizations to inspect and supervise the implementation of the movement by units to promptly take measures to direct and adjust activities to achieve the best results. Aiming to further raise awareness and promote the responsibility of authorities at all levels, unions, socio-political organizations, each family and society in ensuring environmental sanitation to improve the health of individuals, families and communities./.
