Quynh Luu: Handing over gratitude houses to families of navy martyrs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 30, Brigade 131 - Navy Command coordinated with the Military Command of Quynh Luu district and Quynh Bang commune to organize the inauguration ceremony and handover of a gratitude house to Mr. Vu Ngoc Duong, father of martyr Vu Ngoc Manh in Tan Hai hamlet, Quynh Bang commune.

Attending the event were Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Van Duc - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 131, representatives of the District Military Command, local authorities, social organizations and many neighbors.

Martyr Vu Ngoc Manh was born in 1992, a former soldier of Brigade 131 stationed in Hai Phong City, under the Vietnam Navy Command. On May 19, 2016, while on duty in Quang Ninh province, it was unfortunately raining, lightning struck a mined tunnel and caused an explosion. At that time, soldier Vu Van Manh was the deepest person in the tunnel and could not escape in time. His sacrifice left behind sorrow for his family, friends and unit.

Sharing the pain and difficult circumstances of the family as well as expressing the morality of gratitude, towards the 72nd anniversary of National Day September 2, the Brigade Command decided to build a house of gratitude for Mr. Vu Ngoc Duong - the father of the martyr to help the family have a more spacious and clean place to live and worship the martyr. After 3 months of construction, the house has been completed and put into use.

At the ceremony, witnessed by family, relatives and friends, the Command of Brigade 131 coordinated with the District and local Military Command to cut the ribbon and hand over the keys to the gratitude house to Mr. Vu Ngoc Duong.

On behalf of his family, Mr. Duong expressed his emotion and gratitude for the attention of the Party and State for helping and sharing difficulties with his family; at the same time, he promised to use the house for the right purpose, to develop the economy and improve his life./.
