After Le Van Tho and Nguyen Van Tinh escaped from detention, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security directed the establishment of a special task force, assigned the General Department of Police to direct professional units to coordinate with the police of units and localities to organize the capture of the two death row inmates.

On the afternoon of September 16 and early morning of September 17, the General Department of Police arrested Le Van Tho and Nguyen Van Tinh, two death row inmates who escaped from T16 Detention Center on the night of September 10 and early morning of September 11.

It is known that before escaping from prison, Tho "sút" and Nguyen Van Tinh (born in 1989, residing in Lap Thach village, Dong Xuan commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi) were held in solitary confinement in the same room. Both were shackled. One death row inmate had legs smaller than the shackles, so he pulled his legs out of the shackles himself and helped the other death row inmate break the shackles.

The two death row inmates also used shackles to dig a very small wall, only 4 bricks thick. The wall was 30cm thick and it was unclear when the two death row inmates started digging. It is known that the solitary confinement room had a surveillance camera installed. At 9pm on September 10, the guard still saw the two death row inmates in the room. However, an hour later, the two death row inmates had disappeared. After escaping from the solitary confinement room, the two death row inmates found a rope to climb up to the guard tower and swing out.

After escaping from the detention camp, both of them went to the house of a relative of Tinh in Yen Trung commune, Thach That district, Hanoi. On the morning of September 11, both death row inmates appeared in the area of Road 446, Yen Trung commune.

According to the statement of Mr. T. (Tinh's cousin), at around 6:00 a.m. on September 11, Tho and Tinh took a taxi to Yen Trung commune and knocked on the door to call Mr. T. The two death row inmates took a motorbike and helmet and continued to escape.

After Le Van Tho and Nguyen Van Tinh escaped from detention, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security directed the establishment of a special task force, assigned the General Department of Police to direct professional units to coordinate with the police of units and localities to organize the capture of the two death row inmates.

Over the past five days, all of the most elite forces of the General Department of Police have been deployed. Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Acting Director General of the General Department of Police, has commanded a number of raids to capture the suspects.

Experienced generals of the General Police Department such as Lieutenant General Tran Trong Luong, Deputy Director General; Major General Ho Sy Tien, Director of the Criminal Police Department; Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department... all directly participated in commanding the troops.

Although on the night of September 15, many provinces and cities had heavy rain due to the impact of storm No. 10, the troops still ambushed and captured all suspected locations where the two death row inmates were hiding.

On the afternoon of September 16, the Criminal Police Department's troops, directly commanded by Major General Ho Sy Tien, arrested dangerous suspect Le Van Tho, also known as Tho "sút".

Tho "sút" was arrested in Hop street, Nam Hong commune, Nam Sach district, Hai Duong province while he was fleeing in a taxi.

When the Criminal Police Department's reconnaissance force pressed and arrested him, Tho was too surprised to resist. A search found no weapons on the subject, only a few cell phones, money and personal items in a grass-colored backpack.

At the police station, Tho confessed that after escaping, Tho and Tinh split up, each going their separate ways.

The first thing he did after escaping from the camp was to collect debts from some people, then hire a taxi to escape. Tho said running around was tiring because he didn't dare sleep at night and had to eat hastily in the car during the day.

Tho hired a taxi to travel around the provinces, not daring to stop for more than 15-20 minutes. Even though he knew he was being hunted, Tho did not expect to be caught so quickly.

At the police station, Tho also apologized for having implicated so many people, especially the officers managing the Detention Center and those involved in his escape. At the same time, he also expressed regret for not being able to do anything for his parents.

Meanwhile, at around 1:15 a.m. on September 17, in Mai Chau (Hoa Binh), the 2nd military wing of the General Department of Police in coordination with the Hoa Binh Provincial Police arrested the second escaped death row inmate, Nguyen Van Tinh.

Since the two death row inmates escaped from prison, this unit has been assigned to track down Nguyen Van Tinh. Tinh followed the forests to find a way to move to the Son La border area, where a number of drug traffickers live.

Thus, after 6 days and nights since the incident of 2 death row inmates escaping from detention, the General Department of Police has coordinated with police units and localities to capture both especially dangerous subjects.
