The tragedy of a hard-working man who does not accept his wife's adultery

Bui Van Chuan (48 years old, residing in Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang) is famous in the area for pampering his wife. From early morning, this man from the tea-growing land wakes up to "make tea" to sell. Chuan takes all the hard work upon himself, especially saving up to buy gifts for his wife on her birthday and Tet holidays.

Since the beginning of 2017, every time he went out, Chuan suddenly saw people looking at him with strange eyes, and then the gossip "wife has a lover" reached his ears. "Although he had not seen it with his own eyes,"I never saw my wife with anyone" but this made the husband angry. Chuan was even more upset when he noticed that his wife often texted on the phone.“giggled” but he couldn't read because he was illiterate.

Although he did not understand the content, Chuan remembered quite clearly the phone number of the person who frequently texted his wife. He also found out that after each texting with that phone number, his wife would go out for a long time before coming back.“Every time like that, I get really angry. Especially when she wears revealing clothes and takes selfies in front of me,” Chuan said.

In recent months, Chuan's marital conflict has become increasingly serious. He complained that his wife had spent all her savings, but she denied it. "She scolded me back, always scolding me during meals, and many days she didn't come home from going out," Chuan confided.

After dinner on July 27, when he saw his wife wearing nice clothes going out, Chuan secretly followed her. After about five kilometers, he saw his wife turn into a house with a red and blue advertising sign, but he didn't know where it was. He also saw a few young men standing in front of it, guarding and watching the car, so Chuan didn't go near it but turned around and left. Only later did Chuan learn that it was a motel.

After 11pm that day, the woman returned. After having sex, the two argued loudly. According to Chuan, his wife threw a knife at him in a challenge, and in a fit of anger, he stabbed her repeatedly, killing her.

After committing the crime, Chuan sat there in a daze, thinking for a long time. Then, he took off his wife's ring and gold necklace, put them in the closet, and called his daughter who was married far away and his relatives, but they couldn't reach him. Because he had diabetes and drank alcohol while waiting for his wife to return, Chuan was exhausted. He placed his wife's body on his arm and hugged her to sleep.

The next morning, when Chuan's parents-in-law came over, he was still unconscious due to complications from diabetes. That same afternoon, when he woke up, he used the IV line to hang himself but failed.

An investigator said that when Chuan's only daughter came to visit him in the hospital, she blamed him, "Why didn't you try to ignore it and live to suffer like this?" Chuan didn't say anything, just hugged his daughter and cried, apologizing over and over again.

After his health stabilized, Chuan was taken to the provincial police detention center and prosecuted for murder.

According to investigators from the Criminal Police Department of Tuyen Quang Province Police, since his arrest, Chuan cried a lot, regretted his rash behavior, and confessed that he "still loves his wife very much."
