Kiatisak has little chance of leading the Vietnamese team

Most recently, Coach Kiatisak has officially ended his short adventure with Port FC to open a new direction for his career and the teams interested in him.

However, the fact that the most famous young strategist in Southeast Asia kept quiet about his future led to a lot of speculation.

It is not surprising that public opinion in Vietnam is closely interested in this matter because of the special relationship between "Sac" and Vietnamese football in general and HAGL in particular. People still remember the classic saying of Mr. Duc: "I can catch Kiatisak anytime".

But for many months now, since "Sac" left the Thai team and has not accepted Port FC's offer, Mr. Duc has remained silent.

He affirmed that his former hero is very compatible with the playing philosophy of HAGL as well as the Vietnamese national teams. Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh, Xuan Truong, Van Toan, Van Thanh... who watched "Sac" lead HAGL are also very excited about his playing philosophy. But that is a story of the future.

Coach Kiatisak is young and a leading brand in Southeast Asia. He has enough experience at the national team level. However, it seems that at this time, VFF, like Mr. Duc, does not consider the Thai strategist as the number 1 choice.

In fact, that has been shown in the selection criteria of VFF. When the factor of understanding regional football is no longer considered as important as before.

That means VFF accepts to ignore this factor to expand the scope of candidates from Korea, Japan to further Europe such as Germany, Eastern Europe...

Another very important aspect to consider is finance. Kiatisak is a big brand but it also means that it will require a large salary and bonus system.

One of the candidates registered for VFF is coach Winfried Schafer. The former captain of the Thai national team in 2013 proposed a salary of 40 thousand USD, about 850 million VND/year. That alone made VFF shake its head because it could not afford it.

Returning to Kiatisak, according to some sources, his salary and that of his large coaching team when leading the Thai team is about 2 million baht, equivalent to 1.3 billion VND.

This figure, along with other benefits, and the car and house allowance, will increase even more. Therefore, the feasibility for Kiatisak is not high (at Port FC, his salary alone is 1 million baht).

In addition, an important criterion set by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is that from 2019, the national team head coach must have a Pro License. This is what "Thai Zico" is lacking.
