(Baonghean.vn) - After being pregnant for nearly 10 months, a mother cow unexpectedly gave birth to twin female calves. This strange event has aroused the curiosity of many people.

For several days now, many people in the area have come to the home of Mr. Pham Tho Thanh (50 years old, in Hamlet 11, Nam Xuan Commune, Nam Dan District) to witness firsthand a mother cow that gave birth to two female calves at the same time.

According to Mrs. Sen (Mr. Thanh's wife), the family has raised the mother cow for 10 years, but this is the first time they have witnessed it giving birth to two female calves at the same time. What's special is that the cow gave birth 15 days later than expected. As of now, both calves are 4 days old, but they are healthy and walking normally.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoa, a veterinary officer in Nam Xuan commune, said: "I've heard about buffaloes or cows giving birth to twins, but I've never witnessed it firsthand. When I heard that Mr. Thanh's cow gave birth to two calves at the same time, I was curious and went to see it. I was surprised because, after researching, I learned that buffaloes and cows are monogamous animals. Therefore, a cow giving birth to twins is extremely rare."
