Latest information from the Vietnam Register says that BMW will officially recall 79 BMW Motorrad 1200GS due to front shock absorber failure.

Specifically, according to the BMW motor importer and distributor Euro Auto, the front shock absorber of a motorcycle has the task of reducing shock and greatly affects the safety factor when the vehicle turns or decelerates. If the gap between the shock absorber tube and the gasket cover is not detected in time, this gap will grow larger and the gasket cover will be separated from the shock absorber tube, leading to oil leakage, rattling noise and reduced steering performance of the front shock absorber.

As a result, the steering performance will not be completely as desired by the driver, even falling when the vehicle turns or decelerates.

The vehicles subject to this recall will be inspected, repaired or replaced with new shock absorbers according to standards at authorized dealers nationwide within a period of 1.5 hours. The program started from August 7, 2017 to August 7, 2018.
