Thai Hoa: 1,200 volunteers participate in blood donation festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 23, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Thai Hoa town coordinated with the Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center to organize the 2017 Voluntary Blood Donation Festival.

In 2017, Thai Hoa was assigned the target of 335 units of blood. With the spirit“A drop of blood given - A life left behind”, the humanitarian blood donation festival in Thai Hoa attracted 1,200 volunteers who are civil servants, public employees, union members from agencies, units, schools, armed forces and localities across the area to register to participate.

Here, volunteers were screened, had their blood tested, had their blood pressure measured, and had their health checked before donating blood. At the end of the festival, over 600 units of blood were collected. All of the blood will be sent to blood banks at hospitals to save lives and help the health sector reduce the difficulty of blood shortages.
