Central Economic Committee supports people in areas affected by storm No. 10

The Central Economic Committee has called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to contribute at least one day's salary to support people in the Central provinces affected by natural disasters.

On the morning of September 19, the Central Economic Committee held a launching ceremony to support people in the Central provinces to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10.

Attending were Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Head of the Central Economic Commission, Mr. Dinh La Thang - Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission and all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Commission.

In the spirit of "mutual love and support", the Central Economic Committee has called on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to contribute at least one day's salary to help people in the Central provinces overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

On September 15, storm No. 10 made landfall in the Central region with strong winds of level 12, gusting to level 15, causing heavy damage to the coastal provinces of the Central region, especially the storm center from Ha Tinh to Quang Binh.

According to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, up to now, storm No. 10 has killed 6 people, injured 37 people, collapsed, damaged and flooded more than 190,000 houses, and severely damaged many public works, offices and schools.

The storm also caused landslides in transport infrastructure, local power and water supply networks, and many irrigation works, causing heavy damage to agricultural and livestock production.
