Vinh City: Nearly 60 people have dengue fever

According to information from Vinh City General Hospital, since the beginning of the year, the hospital has treated 57 patients with dengue fever, of whom 39 are registered residents of Vinh City. Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has treated 10 patients with dengue fever, of whom 2 are registered residents of Vinh City. The Provincial General Hospital has treated 119 patients with dengue fever, of whom 18 are registered residents of Vinh City.

According to the provincial Center for Preventive Medicine, from the beginning of the year to August 30, Nghe An had 240 people infected with dengue fever. There are still 2 outbreaks that have not ended in Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district and Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district.

Of these, Dien Ngoc commune had 88 infected people and all 88 people have recovered. Since August 22, Dien Ngoc commune has had no new patients. Thanks to the implementation of many positive measures, the dengue fever situation in Dien Ngoc has tended to subside.

In Nghi Quang commune, 10 people have contracted dengue fever, of which 8 have recovered and 2 are being treated at the district hospital. Dengue fever was recorded in Nghi Quang commune since August 24 with 9 cases. On August 27, 1 more patient tested positive for dengue fever.

Currently, the Nghe An Health Department is closely monitoring the outbreak in Nghi Quang and directing medical units in the province to continue monitoring and admitting new patients for treatment and disease-carrying mosquitoes; implementing a campaign to clean up waste and kill mosquito larvae in the community; strengthening communication work and reporting the epidemic daily to higher levels.

The dengue fever epidemic in the province is gradually being controlled. However, the number of imported dengue fever patients (returning from epidemic areas) is still complicated./.
