Fines up to 8 million VND for boats anchoring illegally

According to Decree 104/2017/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of natural disaster prevention and control; exploitation and protection of irrigation works; and dykes, which has just been issued by the Government, ships anchoring in violation of regulations will be fined up to VND8 million.

According to Decree 104/2017/ND-CP: Fine from 3-5 million VND for acts of obstructing the operation of natural disaster prevention and control works.

Decree 104/2017/ND-CP takes effect from November 1, 2017 and replaces Decree No. 139/2013/ND-CP dated October 22, 2013 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in exploitation and protection of irrigation works; dykes; flood and storm prevention and control.

Previously, in Decree No. 139/2013/ND-CP, the act of anchoring ships and boats to avoid or shelter from storms in violation of regulations of competent authorities will be subject to a fine of 500,000 VND to 1 million VND.
