The preliminary list of 30 players built by head coach Vu Hong Viet and the coaching staff includes 18 players who just won the championship with the Vietnam U15 team at the 2017 Southeast Asian U15 tournament and 12 additional players called up from the teams: PVF, Viettel, SLNA, Tay Ninh, Thanh Hoa and Khanh Hoa.

Instead, there are the return of goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet, Dinh Xuan Tien and 2 new faces, Pham Tien Dung and Hoang Van Thong.

According to the plan, the U16 National Team will be in Hanoi on August 17 for training. In the qualifying round of the 2018 Asian U16 Football Championship, the U16 Vietnam team is in Group I with opponents Australia, Cambodia and Mongolia. The matches in Group I will take place from September 20 to September 24 in Mongolia.
