Arresting a group of reckless robbers in Dien Chau, Quynh Luu

(Baonghean.vn) - The method of this group of reckless robbers was to choose times when there were few people around, taking advantage of pedestrians' lack of vigilance and then driving their vehicles close to rob them.

On August 18, Dien Chau District Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Phong (born 1996), Nguyen Van Hai (born 1991) and Le Van Tanh (born 1987), all residing in Quynh Giang Commune, Quynh Luu District, to clarify the act of robbery.

The three suspects were arrested by Dien Chau District Police on August 16 when there was sufficient evidence to prove that the group had committed many robberies in the past.

At the police station, the three suspects confessed to committing four robberies in Dien Chau and Quynh Luu districts. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at nearly 20 million VND.

The modus operandi of this group of reckless robbers was to choose times when there were few people around, taking advantage of pedestrians' lack of vigilance, then approaching them with their vehicles to rob them. The victims were mainly women.

A typical robbery occurred on August 14 on National Highway 1A, through Dien Truong Commune, Dien Chau District. When he spotted his "prey", Hai rode his motorbike close to the victim's vehicle, while Tanh sat behind and quickly snatched her handbag.

The struggle caused the two women in the car to fall onto the road and had to be hospitalized. They confessed that their handbag contained 3 million VND, a silver necklace, and 2 phones.

After robbing the property, these subjects sold it for money to spend and buy drugs. The police are actively recovering the stolen property.
