America's top male model eats 6 bowls of rice a day

Instead of completely avoiding starch, Brad Kroenig eats 6 bowls of rice every day and exercises 2 hours a week.

For nearly two decades, Brad Kroenig has been one of America’s top models, regularly appearing on the catwalks of high-end fashion brands such as Chanel and Versace. However, few people know that the 38-year-old man once went through a period of self-consciousness about his body.

Sharing with the NY Post, the 1.85 m tall and 82 kg male model was obsessed with the desire to improve his body shape. He was never satisfied and fell into boredom, sluggishness, and exhaustion due to the harsh exercise and coffee regimen.

"I realized I couldn't maintain a good body anymore," Kroenig admitted.

In June 2016, determined to change, Kroenig was supported by Nate Miyaki, an author, fitness trainer, and nutritionist. Instead of starving himself or drinking only juice, he ate a lot of carbs, specifically rice, an unusual move for a model.

To burn fat, Miyaki helped Kroenig calculate his calorie needs. Initially, the menu was relatively low in carbs and still mainly protein to maintain lean muscle mass. After six weeks, Kroenig gradually increased the amount of carbs. He now eats 6-7 bowls of rice, equivalent to 325 grams, per day.

After a year of perseverance, Kroenig's stomach is flatter and his face is radiant. He lost 9 kg while maintaining his muscles. "I'm almost 40 years old, but my physical and mental health have never been better," the model proudly said.

Kroenig admitted that he was once "brainwashed by the fashion industry" and believed that eating a lot of starch would make him fat, so he avoided carbs. Following the new diet, he thought he would immediately gain dozens of kilos, but the result was completely the opposite.

Kroenig's Diet

Breakfast: 3 hard-boiled eggs, 1/2 bowl of rice, black coffee.

Lunch: 230g lean protein, 1 bowl basmati rice, unlimited steamed vegetables.

Dinner: 230g lean protein, 5 bowls of rice, unlimited steamed vegetables.

Total daily calorie intake: 2,400.

Kroenig revealed that the key to success is choosing quality carbs like Indian basmati rice and sweet potatoes instead of refined carbs in snacks or diet foods. Once a week, he has a cheat day where he eats pizza, ice cream, and cakes.

As for training, Miyaki guided Kroenig to improve his strength with three 38-minute workouts a week. All the moves are easy to do at home or on the go. "No one believes I work out for less than two hours a week," the model shared. In addition, he often goes hiking and mountain climbing with his son.

Now, Kroenig is no longer obsessed with calories and sit-ups. He regained his confidence and signed a series of new contracts. Overcoming difficulties, a toned body and a clear mind are worthy rewards. "Karl - the famous designer of Chanel fashion house said he had never seen me so beautiful," Kroenig happily said. "That is the most valuable compliment."
