Nghe An bans sea travel ahead of storm number 10
(Baonghean.vn) - In response to the developments of storm No. 10, on the afternoon of September 13, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued an urgent telegram prohibiting ships from going to sea from 7:00 a.m. on September 14, 2017.
The dispatch stated that, according to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 10 is very strong, when it makes landfall, it is forecasted to have winds of level 13, gusts of level 15, reaching level 4 natural disaster risk and will continue to develop complicatedly; It is likely to make landfall in the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh, the storm will be accompanied by heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 200 - 300mm.

To ensure the safety of fishermen and vessels operating at sea, the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requests - the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the districts of Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Cua Lo Town, Hoang Mai Town; the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Head of the Fisheries Sub-Department to deploy the following contents:
1. Use all means and measures to inform ships at sea about the storm's developments, guide and call on ships to return to safe shelters or escape from dangerous areas. Provide guidance on anchoring ships at shelters (including tourist ships and transport ships); organize the relocation and anchoring of aquaculture cages and rafts, and connecting houses to ensure safety.
2. All ships and means of transport are prohibited from going to sea from 7:00 a.m. on September 14, 2017. Ships operating at sea must return to safe anchorage.
