According to Dong Nai Police, at 10:40 a.m. on September 1, a young man (about 24 years old), 1.68 meters tall, thin, wearing a black jacket, three-striped sweatpants, and a mask, drove a Sirius motorbike without a license plate to a bank in Gia Ray town, Xuan Loc district. He left the motorbike outside and went into the transaction counter.

The staff left the money on the table to count and prepare for the afternoon trading session. The young man suddenly pulled out a black bag and threw it at the staff, demanding "give me all the money, if not I will cut you".

According to the teller, everyone panicked when they saw him holding a machete-like knife and an object wrapped in a white towel, suspected to be a gun. The female teller was scared and forced to take 27 million VND and put it in a bag.

He continued to control employee Luu Hoang Quynh Nhu at counter number 2, forced her to open the cash drawer and took about 200 million VND, then escaped.

After running a few meters, the robber was hit in the leg by a chair thrown by a security guard and a passenger and fell over. A bag of money containing about 90 million VND was left behind. The robber then ran to get his motorbike and escaped.

Running to the District Children's House, about a kilometer from the bank, the robber hit a female student riding a bicycle in the opposite direction, causing her to fall over. More than 40 million VND in her bag was scattered, picked up by local people and handed over to the police. The robber continued to flee towards Binh Thuan.

In the brown bag left by the suspect, the police found a white jacket, a pair of black sandals and a bunch of keys. The iron object, suspected to be a homemade mine, was determined by the authorities to be a rolled object with a diameter of nearly one centimeter, a height of more than 10 centimeters, and a hole in it. The robber had sealed the two ends of the electrical wire to pretend to be a bomb to commit the crime.

According to the bank manager, there were more than 20 people at the time of the robbery. The robber pretended to be a customer so the security here did not detect him. This person rushed in and robbed very quickly, only a few minutes. When the security discovered him, they immediately rushed in and the robber ran away./.
