A fisherman died at sea after being struck in the head by a winch cable.

(Baonghean.vn) - While fishing at sea, a fisherman from Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu district) was unfortunately struck on the head by a winch cable, leading to his death.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Uoc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Thuy commune, the incident occurred on the morning of September 13th on fishing vessel NA 3229 TS, captained by Mr. Ho Van Thai (born in 1957), residing in Phuc Thanh village, Tien Thuy commune. At that time, Mr. Thai's vessel, with 6 fishermen on board, was fishing at coordinates 190 50' North - 1060 31' East.

While the crew members were standing on the fishing boat, the winch cable suddenly struck Mr. Nguyen Van Phuoc (born in 1958) from Phuc Thanh hamlet, causing him to fall and die.

After the incident, the fishermen on the boat quickly gathered their nets and returned to shore.

At approximately 3 PM that same day, the fishing boat docked, and the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial.
