Although in the 42nd minute, U18 Brunei scored a goal to reduce the score to 1-2 after goalkeeper Thai Hieu rushed out of the penalty area and cleared the ball indecisively. In the second half, coach Hoang Anh Tuan made some personnel adjustments when Bao Toan and Sy Hoang were brought onto the field. The one-sided game continued to be maintained, but it was not until the 74th minute that U18 Vietnam scored their 4th goal. From a favorable cross from his teammate, Le Xuan Tu finished accurately.
Before the team could stabilize, U18 Brunei conceded another goal just 1 minute later. Tien Anh was the one who caused the Brunei defender to let the ball touch his hand in the penalty area, creating an opportunity for captain Van Toi to increase the score to 5-1 on penalty kick for Hoang Anh Tuan's team.
The nightmare of the opponent continued to be created by U18 Vietnam with a beautiful shot into the far corner of Khac Khiem in the 83rd minute and an accurate free kick by Sy Hoang in the 88th minute. Before the match ended, U18 Vietnam scored another goal to set the final score at 8-1 with a goal by Khac Khiem.
