Breaking up a drug den, arresting 2 groups organizing drug use

Hai Phong police suddenly inspected Pho Nui karaoke bar and discovered many partygoers were using drugs.

On September 18, the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of Hai Phong City Police issued an order to temporarily detain 8 subjects for organizing illegal drug use and sent 18 subjects who tested positive for drugs to Gia Minh Social Labor Education Center to determine their addiction status and apply compulsory drug rehabilitation according to the law.

Previously, at 1:05 a.m. on September 18, detectives from PC45 Department, in coordination with Thuy Nguyen District Police, inspected Pho Nui Karaoke business, located in Quyet Tam village, Minh Duc town, Thuy Nguyen district.

Here, the police discovered in 3 VIP rooms, there were 30 subjects suspected of using drugs, confiscated in the rooms 1 plastic bag containing drugs (ketamine is currently being assessed for quantity) along with some other evidences such as ecstasy (pill form) and tools used to inhale "Ke". Through testing, 23 subjects were found positive for drugs.

During the investigation, the subjects confessed that at around 8:00 p.m. on September 17, Le Van Thai, 23 years old, residing in Quyet Tam village; Le Anh Tuan, 21 years old, residing in Chien Thang village; Bui Van Cuong, residing in Quyet Thang village and Doan Quoc Doanh, 21 years old, residing in Hoang Ton village, all in Minh Duc town, Thuy Nguyen district, discussed pooling money to buy drugs and bring them to Pho Nui Karaoke bar, calling friends to use them together. Thai then went to buy drugs and brought them back to this Karaoke bar.

On the same afternoon, Bui Duc Thieu (27 years old, residing at 47/8 Cu Chinh Lan, Minh Khai ward, Hong Bang district) took 4.5 million VND to buy drugs. At 9:00 p.m. the same day, Thieu and 4 friends (who contributed money for Thieu) brought out drugs to use together, and were then caught red-handed by the police.

The case is under further investigation./.
