Cua Lo is ready for the new 'sea season'

(Baonghean) -With the goal of welcoming more than 1.8 million visitors and achieving revenue of over 1,600 billion VND in 2017, the government and people of Cua Lo town have taken early positive actions for the biggest festival season of the year. Up to this point, all basic preparations have been completed, ready to "converge and shine" as the theme of Cua Lo sea tourism year has set out.

Seriously implement "5 no"

Since 2006, implementing the policy of "5 no" (no price gouging; no soliciting and stalking customers; no massage or street vending; no harming the environment; no disturbing public order), the awareness of the people of Cua Lo town in general and the business households in the area in particular has had many positive changes, contributing to improving professionalism in tourism activities. Walking around the restaurants and business kiosks along the beach, it is not difficult to see the self-awareness and proactiveness of the owners when they soon put up boards listing the prices of foods and services.

At Tu Hung kiosk, more than 1 month before the opening of Cua Lo tourism festival, the owner repaired and upgraded the kiosk, renewed the price list and adjusted the location of the board to help tourists easily consult, look up and control prices. The owner of Tu Hung kiosk said: "In addition to the drinks with regulated prices, the daily price fluctuations of seafood products will be continuously updated.

We have signed a commitment not to raise prices and have preferential rates in case of large groups, or accompanying promotions on swimming floats, swimsuits, and fresh water showers"... Cua Lo has 346 kiosks and restaurants providing food and beverage services. Implementing Directive No. 04/CT-UBND, all businesses are currently strictly complying with the public posting of prices of service and tourism products in the area.

With 293 hotels, motels, and accommodation facilities in Cua Lo, there are about 10,131 rooms, capable of receiving and serving 20,000 guests per day and night. In general, the facilities are upgraded synchronously, fully equipped to serve the needs of tourists. The prices of all types of rooms are announced in detail by the reception department as soon as guests register, the prices of accompanying services are publicly displayed in the internal circulation book placed in each room, preventing sudden price increases during peak times.

The issue of food safety and hygiene is thoroughly communicated to each household by the authorities of Cua Lo town and sudden inspections are increased. Food safety and hygiene is not only the responsibility of the health sector but also the industry and trade sector, the agriculture sector as well as related agencies, units and localities to coordinate in implementation. The health center and the town's economic department strictly carry out the assessment and issuance of certificates to organizations and individuals qualified to produce and trade food and food products, resolutely handle violations of food safety and hygiene, minimizing the unfortunate cases that may occur.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung - Vice Chairman of Cua Lo Town People's Committee said: To strengthen the image and brand of Cua Lo beach tourism, environmental sanitation and urban beautification activities have been responded and implemented by all levels of sectors, organizations and a large number of people. During the 2 general environmental cleaning campaigns, hundreds of cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, youth studying, working and living in the area, accommodation establishments, business kiosks and people of 7 wards and communes collected and transported over 150 cubic meters of garbage along the main beach, returning the beach to a green and clean state, leaving a beautiful impression in the hearts of tourists from all over the world.

Along with that, in mid-April, 7/7 wards and communes in the area launched a campaign to clear traffic safety corridors, sidewalks, roadsides, and curbs. On main roads in Cua Lo such as Binh Minh Street, Nguyen Sinh Cung Street, Nguyen Xi Street, 535 Street, along Lam River... the authorities organized propaganda, dismantled illegal constructions, and drew 3m long boundary lines for motorbike parking on the sidewalk. In addition, the authorities also organized a commitment to not re-encroach on traffic safety corridors for each household.

Product diversity, new locations

What’s new in Cua Lo tourism in 2017 is a question not only of many tourists from all over the world but also of the people in Nghe An province. From the core advantage of sea tourism, this year, Cua Lo actively deploys many different types of tourism, serving the diverse tastes of each target group.

The type of tourism that many tourists are interested in is beach tourism - resort - sports. The 10.2 km long coastline, beautiful, gently sloping beach, golden sand and blue sea, along with a system of standard restaurants and hotels are the ideal choice for many tourists. In addition, for young, active tourists, many attractive water sports such as swimming, diving, volleyball, beach soccer, surfing... are waiting to be discovered.

On the other hand, experiential tourism is also a good choice: drifting on a basket boat fishing for squid with fishermen, visiting the fish sauce craft village of Hai Giang, experiencing life with fishermen in the fishing village, visiting the bustling fish market at dawn... Notably, in 2017, Cua Lo also focused on building new products such as cultural and artistic tourism, coordinating with performing units to invite artists to perform "specialties" of folk songs, and Giam at the beach park for groups of tourists in need.

In addition, the type of relic and scenic tourism also has its own attraction, especially for older tourists. Along the beach, which is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, is a system of ancient temples, communal houses, and pagodas rich in historical traditions such as Lang Hieu Temple, Mai Bang Temple, Yen Luong Temple, Van Loc Temple, Lo Son Pagoda, Nguyen Xi Temple, Dao Ngu Pagoda, etc. These famous landscapes and relics are full of sediments at the estuary that have been forged for thousands of years, and will certainly bring deep, unforgettable experiences to the journey to Cua Lo.

Ecotourism is also a bright spot in the types of tourism in Cua Lo, which is determined to be focused on development this year. Tourists can visit Ngu Island by high-speed tourist canoe, visit the pristine and poetic Lan Chau Island... In particular, this year, these destinations have invested in upgrading items and services towards perfection, helping tourists to be more comfortable and convenient in enjoying their vacation.

The highlight of the 2017 Cua Lo beach tourism season is the opening night of “Cua Lo Convergence and Shine” which will take place on the night of April 29, at Binh Minh Square, Cua Lo town. According to the plan, the opening night will be brilliant with a grand art performance, smoothly combining tradition and modernity, recreating a traditional, pristine Cua Lo and a vibrant Cua Lo, reaching the new era. The opening night will have the participation of many famous artists such as My Tam, Dan Truong, Thanh Thao… which will certainly satisfy thousands of tourists coming to Cua Lo.

Mr. Doan Tien Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town affirmed: "Up to this point, all basic preparations have been completed. The government and people of Cua Lo town have been making efforts every day, doing a good job in building and managing tourism so that Cua Lo can truly be a friendly, hospitable, "disciplined and branded" destination.
