Trump and Putin will meet in July

Russian President Putin is expected to have his first face-to-face meeting with his US counterpart Trump on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Germany next July.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump will meet face to face for the first time in July in Hamburg, Germany, according to Tass.

"The two presidents had a recent phone call and agreed to meet face to face on the sidelines of the G20 summit in July in Hamburg," Lavrov said.

The Russian Foreign Minister also added that he and his US counterpart Rex Tillerson had reviewed the issues the two Presidents would discuss in their upcoming meeting.

"Mr. Rex and I discussed measures to advance the agenda of the two leaders, including the Syrian issue, with a view to reaching some decisions before the meeting," the Russian Foreign Minister confirmed.

On May 10, Mr. Trump received Mr. Lavrov at the White House to discuss the Syrian issue and many other international issues.Lavrov is the most senior Russian official to meet Mr Trump since the US president took office in January.
