(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the impact of storm No. 10, the rising tide overflowed the dike, causing many shrimp farming areas in Dien Chau and Quynh Luu to be wiped out.

Mr. Pham Xuan Sanh, Vice Chairman of Dien Chau District People's Committee, said: As of 3:30 p.m. on September 15, the high tide rose, over the border dike and penetrated deep into the shrimp farming area of ​​Dien Trung commune. The high tide caused the complete loss of 70 hectares of shrimp farming; 400 hectares of crops were heavily flooded.

At Cua Hien beach, 12 kiosks of businesses collapsed and had their roofs blown off. At this time, in Dien Thanh commune, seawater has also flooded Binh Minh street.... Dien Chau district is directing forces to overcome the consequences. People in Dien Trung commune are also trying to "salvage" the ponds to reduce the damage.

In Quynh Luu district, many shrimp farming areas were also flooded and lost.

Mr. Vu Van Duong - Vice Chairman of Quynh Bang Commune People's Committee said: Due to the impact of storm No. 10, in Mai Giang 1 area, high tides over the dike flooded hundreds of hectares of shrimp, causing damage of tens of billions of dong.

Currently, forces and people are on duty to protect the dike, dredge and raise the dike to rescue the shrimp.
