When the cool breezes begin to blow, autumn starts to creep into the streets. Though brief, autumn possesses its own unique charm. In that crisp coolness, there are flowers that bloom only when autumn arrives.

Moc Chau white cabbage

In late autumn and early winter each year, Moc Chau is covered in a blanket of white mustard flowers. Tourists can easily spot fields and valleys overflowing with the white color of the mustard flowers, resembling a vast grassland painting.

Originally a very simple flower, no one would have imagined it could captivate people with its enchanting beauty. Mustard blossoms blanket the pathways, along familiar and unfamiliar roads, transporting visitors as if they were stepping into a fairyland.

Although white mustard flowers bloom in many places, they have long been a symbol of autumn in the windy Moc Chau plateau. The best time to admire them is in November and December each year.

The fragrance of milk flower is intoxicating.

By default, mentioning autumn in Hanoi brings to mind the intoxicating scent of milk flower blossoms. For those far from the capital, the fragrance of milk flowers is deeply ingrained in their subconscious, evoking countless memories.

For reasons unknown, Hanoi's autumn has become inextricably linked to the scent of milk flower blossoms, a familiar part of its history. When the gentle autumn breeze brings a subtle chill to the alleyways, the fragrance of these flowers fills the street corners.

People rarely remember the image of this flower because its tiny, white-green clusters peeking out from between the leaves aren't particularly striking. But inhaling the fragrance carried on the wind is enough to stir the heart. At the base of the tree, tiny buds fall down like a soft carpet. Walking through streets like Quang Trung, Nguyen Du, Quan Thanh, and Thanh Nien, the intoxicating scent makes Hanoi's autumn even more poetic and complete.

Wild sunflowers on the Da Lat plateau

In mid-autumn, when wild sunflowers bloom simultaneously in many places, the earliest and most beautiful blooms are found in the Da Lat plateau. The city of love becomes even more romantic when covered in a golden hue like the color of sunshine.

Wild sunflowers are not cultivated by humans. They bloom naturally in large clumps, possessing remarkable vitality. The suburbs are where wild sunflowers grow most abundantly and brilliantly. The ideal time to admire them is early in the morning, from 9 a.m. onwards. At that time, the last dew drops evaporate in the sunlight, making each flower appear its most pristine.

If you're traveling to Da Lat by motorbike, choose the Lien Khuong highway and the Dran pass, as these are the two best routes to admire the flowers. The flowers grow densely on the mountain slopes, forming an endless golden carpet that will captivate anyone.

The purple heather blankets the late autumn sky.

Forget-me-nots, with their tiny, delicate petals swaying in the cold wind, usually bloom in late autumn. Tourists can find the purple hues of forget-me-nots in Da Lat or Hanoi. At that time, these simple, deep purple flowers are carried by street vendors, adding a poetic and charming touch to the capital's streets.
