Check bank deposits using personal phone

Recently, there have been many cases where depositors still hold their savings books but cannot withdraw money because the deposit money has been fraudulently embezzled by bank employees and not entered into the bank's data system.

Sharing about this situation, Mr. Nguyen Hung - General Director of TPBank said that although these incidents do exist, they rarely happen because the internal control systems of the banking system are quite strict, with many stages of inspection and supervision. Besides, there is still a more convenient and easier way to check the status of deposits at the bank, which is to scan the QR code to look up the savings book information, which TPBank is currently the first and only bank to deploy so far.

Customers just need to download and install the bank's ebank application on their Android or iOS smartphone, then open the QR code scanning feature on this application and point the phone's camera lens at the QR code printed on the savings book. After a moment, all information related to the savings book saved on TPBank's system will appear and customers can check it immediately.

Scanning the QR code not only helps customers check whether the information printed on the savings book matches the deposit amount entered into the bank's system, but also shows whether the book is frozen or mortgaged. "Such checks help make information transparent and customers can feel secure with their savings books when depositing at the bank, while still ensuring the principles of protecting customers' information when depositing money" - Mr. Hung shared.

QR codes have been printed on all savings books issued at TPBank's transaction counters for several years now. If using a regular QR code reader application, customers only receive long, incomprehensible strings of characters. When using TPBank's ebank application, the information is decoded, data is queried on the bank's server, if the savings book is on the system, the information will be displayed, otherwise, only the message "Savings book does not exist or has been closed" will be received. Using this QR code helps increase security features, prevent fraud, and counterfeiting of customers' savings books.
