Coach Mai Duc Chung and Doan Van Hau honored in Southeast Asia

Vietnamese football won big at the Award Gala of the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) on the evening of September 23.

VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan received the "Federation of the Year" award.

The ASEAN Football Federation Annual Awards Gala took place in Bali, Indonesia. This event was to honor member federations, coaches, players, and referees with outstanding achievements in 2016 and 2017.

Coach Mai Duc Chung received the award for Coach of the Year for women's football.. The strategist born in 1951 made a strong impression when helping the Vietnamese women's team win the gold medal at the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia. This is the fifth time the Vietnamese women's football team has won the title in this playground, equaling Thailand, including three times under the leadership of coach Mai Duc Chung. The award for Coach of the Year for men's football belongs to coach Kiatisuk Senamuang of Thailand. This former player helped Thailand win the AFF Cup 2016 and advance to the final qualifying round of the 2018 World Cup but is currently unemployed.

Doan Van Hau was honored as the Best Young Player.. In addition to Van Hau, player Trong Hoang was also recognized for being included in the typical squad of Southeast Asia.

Coach Mai Duc Chung helped Vietnam women's football team win SEA Games gold medals three times.

VFF honored as Federation of the Year. This is the recognition of AFF when Vietnam successfully hosted and organized a series of events such as the Asian Futsal Club Championship, Asian Women's Qualifiers, and Asian U23 Qualifiers. In particular, AFF highly appreciated the recent success of Vietnam in youth tournaments when U20 Vietnam was the only representative of Southeast Asia to enter the final round of the U20 FIFA World Cup, U15 won the Southeast Asian Championship...
