Son suspected of beating mother, causing skull fracture and broken jaw

Hai Duong Provincial Police have detained Tran Van Ch. to clarify the suspicion that he caused injury to his biological mother.

On the afternoon of September 25, the leader of Thanh Mien District Police (Hai Duong) said that the unit is coordinating with PC45 (Hai Duong Provincial Police) to investigate the case of Ms. Pham Thi Chuot (born in 1967, residing in Vo Hoi area, Thanh Mien town, Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province) who was seriously injured.

Initial information, at noon on September 24, relatives came to visit Ms. Chuot's house and discovered her lying unconscious on the bed, so they took her to the emergency room and reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the district police sent forces to the scene to investigate. Some neighbors said that on the night of September 23, Mrs. Chuot and her son, Tran Van Ch., had a loud argument. At noon on September 24, the incident was discovered and they suspected that the injuries on Mrs. Chuot's body were caused by the victim's son.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Do Quy Can, Chairman of Thanh Mien Town People's Committee, confirmed the above incident. Mr. Can said that the police are currently investigating to clarify the cause of the incident in which Ms. Chuot was seriously injured and unconscious in her house.

“Because her husband passed away a long time ago and her two sons work far away, Ms. Chuot lives alone in a house in Vo Hoi neighborhood. Recently, Ms. Chuot’s son Ch. brought a 62-year-old man home, claiming to be his adoptive father. At the time of the incident, it was not clear who injured Ms. Chuot. The police are currently investigating the incident,” Mr. Can informed.

Mr. Do Quy Can added that on the night of September 24, the police detained Tran Van Ch. (Mrs. Chuot’s son) to investigate and clarify the case. Currently, Ms. Pham Thi Chuot is being treated at Hai Duong General Hospital with a fractured skull, broken jaw and is still in a coma./.
