National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and delegates of Constituency No. 1 met with voters before the 4th session of the 14th National Assembly in Phu Thu ward, Cai Rang district, Can Tho city.

At the meeting, representatives of the National Assembly deputies of Unit 1, Can Tho City, announced the contents to be discussed at the 4th session. Accordingly, the National Assembly will consider and approve six draft laws; review and give opinions on 10 draft laws and discuss socio-economic issues, and supervise other important issues.

At the meeting, the country's hot issues such as inadequate planning causing consequences for the people; economic development must be associated with environmental protection; anti-corruption; the implementation of BOT policies in localities still has many concerns; the issue of agricultural product development, farmers' output planning; counterfeit and poor quality goods... were raised by voters of Phu Thu ward to the National Assembly Chairman and the National Assembly delegation.

Assessing the increasingly effective activities at the National Assembly sessions, especially the question and answer sessions, voter Tran Thanh Hoang said that these were remarkable changes. This voter is also very concerned about the country's outstanding issues, especially the fight against corruption.

Voters express their opinions to the National Assembly delegation

“In the fight against corruption, the Party and the State have been determined in the past time, and the people are very satisfied and confident in this fight. However, we also request that the National Assembly consider the issue of power and power control to proactively avoid the loss of national assets. There are enough legal mechanisms but they do not detect it early; when it is detected, the recovery of assets is too little,” said voter Tran Thanh Hoang.

Sharing the opinions of voters, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan stated that recently, a number of typical cases have been publicly tried, along with the decisions of the Central Inspection Committee, creating great trust among the people in the anti-corruption policy of the Party and State. This time, the National Assembly is considering amending and supplementing the Law on Anti-Corruption, which is a very important law that people hope will have enough power to deter and punish corruption crimes.

The General Secretary said, “When the furnace is hot, fresh wood thrown into it will burn,” but who is throwing it now? The people can throw it in, and the people’s discoveries about corruption are the same as people throwing fresh wood into the furnace. Thus, not only the State but also all of us need to support and participate in the fight against corruption that the Party and the State have launched.

From another perspective, voter Huynh Thanh Long is concerned about the issue that many people have been concerned about recently, which is the collection of fees and the placement of BOT stations in localities.

Voters suggest that in the upcoming session, the National Assembly should discuss and consider the situation of many toll stations on national highways, causing traffic obstruction and frustration for the people.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan answers voters' opinions

Responding to voters about this content, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that this is a pressing issue for the people, so the National Assembly has included this content in the thematic supervision conducted by the National Assembly Standing Committee and reported to National Assembly deputies.

The National Assembly Chairman said that during the monitoring process, many opinions were raised that there was an unreasonable situation when the State built the road, BOT only spread a layer of asphalt and then collected the toll. However, there is no regulation that does not allow BOT to build on existing roads, the issue is the reasonable toll and the toll collection period. New roads have different investment costs, or roads that the State has built and are now degraded, the investment costs will be different, not like new roads. Therefore, the toll collection and the toll collection period must be different.

The National Assembly Chairman also emphasized that we have not really paid attention to the budget estimates of private enterprises when implementing BOT routes. And when put into use, it will affect many subjects. Therefore, it is necessary to manage and carry out strict budget checks from the input to the control of toll collection time and toll rates to ensure accuracy. For its part, the National Assembly will continue to monitor and supervise the conclusions of the monitoring delegation on this content./.
