56% of respondents said Donald Trump is not fit to be US president, only 42% support him, according to a Quinnipiac University survey released on September 27, according to AFP.

Quinnipiac University conducted a survey of 1,412 voters across the US from September 21 to 26. The survey has a margin of error of 3.1%.

The support - disapproval ratio for Trump, Republican Party, to be US President with the survey subjects being Democrats, Republicans, American men, women is 5 - 94, 84 - 14, 49 - 49 and 35 - 63 respectively. This ratio for white voters is 50 - 48, black voters is 4 - 94.

Fifty-seven percent of respondents said they disapproved of Trump's performance as president, while only 36 percent approved. Approval has ranged from 33 to 40 percent in Quinnipiac polls since March. Fifty-one percent said they were embarrassed by Trump's performance as president, while 27 percent said they were proud.

"With an approval rating of 30-40% and his character and judgment in question, President Trump faces the harsh reality that a majority of American voters think he is unfit for the highest office," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of Quinnipiac University./.
