Deputy Director of the theft: The Ministry in charge works with the investigation agency
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has worked with Long An Police to verify the incident in which Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Environmental Protection Control (General Department of Environment), lost nearly 400 million.
On the afternoon of October 1, Colonel Pham Huu Chau, Deputy Director of Long An Provincial Police, confirmed that the agency had worked with the working group of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) to verify information related to the case of Deputy Director of the Department of Environmental Protection Control Nguyen Xuan Quang having 385 million VND stolen while staying at TV Hotel in Tan An City, Long An.
“They discussed the theft, whether or not there was a theft. That was it,” said Colonel Chau.

Previously, after returning to Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang had a report to explain to the leaders of the General Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
In it, Mr. Quang affirmed that this was family money, taken to solve personal matters.
Currently, the General Department of Environment is still waiting for the final conclusion of Long An Provincial Police to have a direction to handle the case.
Regarding the incident, Vietnamnet reporters verified Mr. Dau Ba Tung (born in 1993), Institute of Environmental Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, 1 of 4 people staying at the same hotel with Mr. Quang at the time of the theft.
Mr. Tung was the one who reported the theft of 385 million VND in Mr. Quang's room.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Minh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Chi Commune, Thanh Chuong District (Nghe An) said that Dau Ba Tung has registered his household registration and permanent residence in the locality. However, he is currently working in Ho Chi Minh City.
As reported, on September 26, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang had 385 million VND stolen from TV Hotel (Tan An City).
At the scene, the police discovered some envelopes and 2,300 USD, the tables and chairs were not moved.
The case is being further investigated by Tan An City Police.
