Quynh Luu: Heavy rain leaves roads and houses covered in water

(Baonghean.vn) - The rain that lasted for many hours on the morning of October 3 caused many roads in Quynh Luu district to be partially flooded, many houses and yards were submerged in water.

In hamlet 7, Quynh My commune, many households such as Mrs. Nguyen Thi Luat, Tran Van Bich, Dinh Van Tich... all had their houses flooded.

The reason is that the drainage ditch on National Highway 48B passing through this area does not meet technical standards; there is no ditch on the drainage side, and there is no water on the existing ditch side, so thousands of cubic meters of water from the foot of Truong Tho mountain flowed onto the road, into people's houses, many families had chickens and pigs die, and food was flooded.

Right at the intersection of Cau Giat town, water also flooded into many households' houses, the power grid here was completely lost; it was raining heavily, the risk of damage was increasing.

According to the Hydrometeorological Center, the amount of rain measured this morning in Quynh Luu was nearly 100mm.
