In his last lecture before retirement, Professor Tri talked a lot about the HEART and ETHICS of a doctor. |
As someone who has been with Professor Nguyen Anh Tri for 19 years, Dr. Vo Thi Thanh Binh (Head of Stem Cell Transplantation Department) expressed: "Until now, I still feel disappointed when Professor Tri retires.
During my work, I was scolded by Professor Tri many times. At first, I was offended, but then I thought about it and realized that those scoldings were the times that helped me improve.

Dr. Vo Thi Thanh Binh shares her feelings about Professor Nguyen Anh Tri |
According to Dr. Binh, most recently she was taught by Professor Tri (before he retired). In addition to the medical knowledge as before, Professor Tri also taught knowledge that no textbook has.
“That day, Professor Tri met privately with the resident doctors at the hospital. In addition to medical knowledge, Professor Tri also gave us many messages about HEART and ETHICS.
I still remember the professor's words: "As a doctor, besides saving people, the doctor's feelings and heart for the patient are extremely important. Those feelings and hearts must come from the HEART."
Not as lucky as Dr. Binh to attend Professor Tri's class, Ms. Bui Bich Ngoc (staff of the Nutrition Department) was the lucky one to hug Professor Tri on the farewell day, with extremely special emotions.

Ms. Ngoc cried on the day she said goodbye to Professor Nguyen Anh Tri (October 2). |
“That day, when Uncle Tri came to me, my feelings at that time were like that of a child about to leave his father. I hugged him and cried like a child,” Ngoc recalled.
It is known that this was not the first time Ms. Ngoc shed tears because of her emotions when she learned that the "captain" had retired.
“The day Uncle Tri came to the department to greet the staff, we were waiting in line. Seeing him go up the stairs, not only me but everyone in the department cried.
Or like last weekend, my department staff brought food to my uncle's room, when the girl reported that: Your belongings have been packed. Hearing that, I cried because I knew that I was about to leave a father, a leader I loved very much," said Ms. Ngoc.
I hope Professor Tri will work for another 5-10 years.
Not only medical staff, but also patients always hope that Professor Tri will work for another 5-10 years.
“I was examined by Professor Tri twice, and the director came to visit me many times. Even though I couldn’t see him, I could feel his warmth and trust when I heard his voice and held his hand,” shared Ms. Uyen (currently being treated at the Stem Cell Transplant Department).

Ms. Bui Thi Thuyet (52 years old, from Hoa Binh), who had the honor of saying goodbye to Professor Nguyen Anh Tri on October 2, choked up and said: "I just hope the director stays for another 5-10 years so we can benefit."
I know that other doctors are also very good, but for some reason I always have strong faith in Professor Tri."

Ly Kim Anh (13 years old, currently being treated at the Thalassemia Department) shared: “I am very sad that you are retiring. I thank you for devoting all your heart to treating us. I hope that after you retire, you will continue to research so that patients like us will not have to die.”
As a pioneer in the movement to mobilize and donate blood, Professor Tri is an example for generations to follow for blood donation volunteers.
“Hopefully, after retirement, Professor Tri will always be the one holding the torch to light the way for the humanitarian blood donation movement to continue to develop. So that drops of blood can be shared with less fortunate patients,” Ms. Hoa shared.
Facing the affection that doctors and patients have for him, Professor Nguyen Anh Tri was moved to share: “I love this group! They are colleagues, comrades, students, employees... and they are also people I love and cherish very much!
Patients too, who gave me passion for my work, success, and achievements in my life - stood waiting for me to shake hands, to say thank you, and even to hug me and cry!
I love them so much! And I said: Being able to treat people and serve the people is my boundless joy and happiness!”.
