Mazda CX-5 2017 suddenly appeared in Vietnam

Mazda CX-5 2017 coming to Vietnam will create heat in the mid-size crossover segment in the near future, in the context of Honda CR-V 7 seats is about to go on sale.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 debuted at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. So far, the mid-size crossover has arrived in many Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. In Vietnam, the appearance of the 2017 Mazda CX-5 is the first time, showing that the official launch date is not far away.

The most obvious difference on the new generation Mazda CX-5 is the exterior improvements. The car is more square and angular, inspired by the CX-3 and CX-9 lines. The front of the new CX-5 is 10 mm wider than the old version. The A-pillars are pushed back approximately 35 mm.

The grille also has a new design. Other notable improvements in the 2017 Mazda CX-5 include cleaner headlights and taillights, a sportier overall look, a redesigned hood, and sharper C-pillars.

The 2017 CX-5's chassis has been improved to increase torsional rigidity by 15% thanks to high-strength steel in the A and B pillars. Noise levels have also been reduced by 1.3 dB.

Inside the cabin, the new Mazda CX-5 is also upgraded with a 3-spoke steering wheel, push-button start and a 4.6-inch color screen on the dashboard. There is also a 7-inch screen on the dashboard similar to that on Mercedes-Benz cars. The Bose 10-speaker sound system and Mazda Connect feature connect to smartphones.

Engine options on the 2017 Mazda CX-5 vary by market, with versions including the 2.2L SkyActiv-D diesel and the 2.0L SkyActiv-G and 2.5L SkyActiv gasoline engines. In foreign markets, consumers can choose from a standard 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive.

In the Vietnamese market, the Mazda CX-5 is the leading model in sales in the mid-size crossover segment. In the first 8 months of the year, a total of 5,169 Mazda CX-5 cars were sold to customers, far surpassing the Honda CR-V (2,055 cars) and Nissan X-Trail (1,470 cars). The official selling price of the Mazda CX-5 2017 will have to wait until the official launch date, while the current version starts from 799 - 899 million VND.
