Leaked photos of Nissan 7-seat car competing with Toyota Fortuner

Information about the 7-seat SUV model based on the chassis of the Nissan Navara pickup truck has been circulating since the beginning of 2016, then gradually quieted down at the end of last year. Until now, a photo appeared online showing the design of this 7-seat SUV competing with the Toyota Fortuner.

According to the Nissan-Arabia forum, where the above photo was posted, the SUV based on the Navara pickup platform is actually the next generation of the Nissan Xterra sold in the Chinese market called the Nissan Paladin.

As can be seen, the front of the car is slightly different from the Navara pickup. The grille and headlights have a softer design, reminiscent of its “brother” Nissan Pathfinder. Meanwhile, the body is almost similar to the current generation Navara, from the large tire fenders, multi-spoke alloy wheels to the two body panels.

There is no information about the engine yet, but foreign auto news sites predict that engine options will include a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with 163 horsepower, or diesel variants with 160 horsepower, 440 Nm of torque and 190 horsepower, 490 Nm of torque.

This SUV based on the Nissan Navara platform is expected to launch in early 2018, competing directly with rivals such as Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner or ISUZU Mu-X.
