Linking industrial and handicraft development with new rural construction

(Baonghean) - Party committees and authorities at all levels in Dien Chau district focus on implementing solutions to attract investment in industrial and handicraft development. On that basis, many projects have developed production, business and infrastructure, contributing positively to the economic restructuring in the area.

In Dien Chau district, there are many enterprises and production facilities that have created competitive products such as: fish meal, steel bars, steel billets, galvanized steel pipes, NPK fertilizer, PET plastic beads, garments... The main products over the years have always increased from 7.2 - 10.8%, helping the industrial development sector of the district in the first 9 months of 2017, reaching a total value of more than 1,706 billion VND.

The "locomotive" for industrial development in Dien Chau is the Dien Hong and Thap - Hong - Ky industrial clusters. Since 2003, the district has built the Dien Hong industrial cluster on an area of ​​10 hectares with a total investment of 11.6 billion VND, promptly meeting the needs of 13 enterprises and 28 production and business households in the fields of: steel bar production, steel billet cooking, purlin production, roofing sheet production, plastic granulation, automobile dealership, scrap iron dealership, copper aluminum, plastic grinding, agricultural machinery services... The total revenue of the cluster reaches over 550 billion VND/year.

Then, in 2006, Dien Chau continued to invest in building the 26-hectare Thap - Hong - Ky Industrial Park and synchronously built technical infrastructure including: Traffic system, water supply and drainage system, modern wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 300 m3/day, electricity... Up to now, the province and district have granted Investment Certificates and investment approval decisions to 32 enterprises and individual households to invest in production and business with a total registered investment of nearly 400 billion VND. Currently, there are 30 enterprises investing in construction and going into stable production and business activities. Thereby, attracting and creating jobs for 2,500 workers.

In particular, the Woin Vina Korean Garment Factory project is producing very effectively, creating jobs for over 2,000 workers and is currently constructing phase 2, expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2017. Along with that, there are many businesses investing in the production of high-quality products that are competitive in the market such as fertilizers, galvanized steel pipes, barbed wire... The total revenue of the industrial cluster reaches over 300 billion VND/year.

Mr. Chu Duy Phong - Deputy Head of Finance & Planning Department of Dien Chau District People's Committee said: To create conditions for enterprises to invest in developing the industrial production sector, in the coming time, the district will continue to invest and expand 15 hectares in Thap - Hong - Ky Industrial Park. At the same time, remove difficulties for production and business, especially focusing on conditions to promote industrial production, prioritizing the development of high-quality products. Urge the implementation of projects to ensure progress.

Successfully implement the Project "Attracting investment to develop industry, small-scale industry and craft villages in the period of 2016 - 2020". Currently, there are many projects registered for investment such as Viet Tien Trade and Service; Trade and Service Center in Dien Hong; Trung Huy Trade and Spare Parts Trading Center; ECO International Packaging Factory; Centers, trade and services, petroleum business, construction materials production, auto sales and repair agencies...

Despite achieving positive results, Dien Chau has not yet attracted large-scale investment projects to create a breakthrough in industrial production, so in the coming time, the district will continue to strongly improve the investment environment in an open and favorable direction for investors. Maximize the potential and strengths of the district, focus on attracting investment to develop the industrial - handicraft sectors and craft villages associated with the process of building new rural areas in the direction of industrialization and modernization; create economic restructuring towards rapidly increasing the proportion of industrial and service sectors.

Attracting investment to develop industry - handicrafts and craft villages, creating jobs, increasing income for people... Doing well the political and ideological work, creating high solidarity and unanimity in the Party Committee and the political system; promoting propaganda and mobilization to create consensus among the people to attract investment to develop industry and consider attracting investment as an important "push" for economic and social transformation and development.
