Celebrating the 65th Anniversary of Vietnam's Traditional Day of Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 10, the Department of Information and Communications held a ceremony to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Publishing, Printing and Distribution of Vietnamese Books (October 10, 1952 - October 10, 2017).

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Le Ba Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Information and Communications and representatives of provincial departments and branches.

Over the past 65 years, the Vietnamese Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution industry has achieved many achievements, making positive contributions in the fields of ideology, propaganda and dissemination of socio-economic development movements, cultural development, improving people's knowledge and spiritual life.

In line with that development, the Publishing, Printing and Distribution industry of Nghe An has achieved remarkable achievements. Nghe An Publishing House was established in 1980, always maintaining its political orientation, promptly serving the political tasks of the country and the province. Every year, Nghe An Publishing House has published about 150 books, with more than 75 thousand copies, including many valuable works.

In the field of printing, Nghe An province has made significant progress in quantity and quality. Nghe An Printing Company has become the leading unit in printing activities in the locality. Printing and publishing units in the area have caught up with the trend of economic integration and gradually adapted to the market; with a source of books that ensure quality, content and form are increasingly improved.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Le Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated and congratulated the remarkable achievements of the Publishing, Printing and Distribution sector. He hoped that the sector would continue to maintain and further promote the achieved results, contributing positively to the innovation of the province.

In particular, the industry needs to focus on a number of key tasks: Always maintain political and ideological orientation, ensure harmony between political tasks and production and business. Gradually professionalize and modernize printing and distribution activities associated with environmental protection; restore the tradition of reading culture in the community. Build a team of publishing, printing and distribution workers with strong political will, good expertise, professional ethics, meeting the needs of the integration period; Strengthen state management of printing and distribution activities; strictly handle violations of the law; promote social work to build and expand the book distribution network to rural and disadvantaged areas.
