Vinh University distributes 1,400 free porridge portions to patients

(Baonghean.vn) - Although it rainsflooded, lecturers and students of Vinh University still organized to cook and distribute 1,400 free porridge portions to poor patients at the Oncology Hospital and Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

On the morning of October 10, the Center for Student Services, Support and Business Relations of Vinh University, along with many lecturers and students in the Youth Union and Student Association of the school, organized a free porridge distribution for poor patients.

From 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., teachers and students of Vinh University divided into 2 teams to distribute porridge to patients being treated at the Oncology Hospital and Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

Although it was raining and the roads were flooded in many places, since 4am volunteers had prepared porridge to deliver to patients in difficult circumstances.

Mr. Le Cong Duc, Director of the Center for Student Services, Support and Business Relations of Vinh University, said that the program was decided to be held at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics and Oncology Hospitals because these are places with many patients in difficult circumstances. Organizing charitable activities to help will be more practical and meaningful.

"Hot bowls of porridge, especially in stormy weather, will hopefully give the patients more strength. Seeing everyone receive the porridge and eat it all makes the team members very excited," Duc shared.
