MTV band member's 'back from the dead' journey

In 2015, singer Le Minh MTV suffered a serious traffic accident, broke his left femur, had a vein infection and increased liver enzymes. Overcoming that incident, Le Minh shared many thoughts.

I think 70% I can't live

In August 2015, singer Le Minh MTV suffered a serious traffic accident that broke his left femur. After emergency treatment and surgery to fix his femur, he continued to suffer from an intravenous infection that caused a fever of 40 degrees and elevated liver enzymes.

After a period of recovery, it was not until early 2017 that he officially had surgery to remove the iron brace in his leg. Le Minh had to spend his birthday in a hospital bed in 2015. His condition was very dangerous at this time, his family was mentally prepared, Le Minh himself thought that he would not survive.

- Your birthday in 2015 will surely be unforgettable?

That was when I was in the hospital, my health was in critical condition. The day before my birthday, the doctors had a meeting with my family to discuss my condition. I had a high fever, my skin and eyes turned yellow, my liver enzymes were elevated, and my condition was not improving.

I thought I was 70% dead. My liver enzymes had risen past the point where they could be restored. I was at the bottom of the health scale for survival. I thought it was my last birthday.

I told my family: "If the situation cannot be saved, then go home to celebrate my birthday and say goodbye to everyone one last time."

After the meeting with the doctor, my family decided to celebrate my birthday at the hospital and transfer to another hospital the next day. My friends brought a lot of cakes but I couldn't eat them because the smell of the food made me nauseous. I had mixed feelings, happy that my friends and family were there to cheer me up but sad because I didn't know what tomorrow would bring.

Member Le Minh (MTV group) celebrated his birthday in the program where he and other members of the group were coaches.

- How did you overcome those feelings?

I thank my loved ones who have always been there for me, taking care of me and encouraging me. Besides my family, my two close friends who have encouraged me a lot are Ngoc Linh and Phuong Thanh.

On the evening of my birthday, when everyone had gone home, I lay alone in the dark and thought a lot. I thought that I could not have such an ending, I could not give up. I was determined to try until the last minute.

The next morning, my family took me to the hospital twice. About a week later, thanks to the dedicated treatment of the doctors, my health showed signs of recovery.

- What was the first thing you did when you recovered?

When I knew I was out of danger, the first thing I told my family was that I wanted a haircut. After a month in bed, I looked very untidy. I wanted to get rid of all the remnants of my illness.

There are emotions that people can only understand after experiencing life and death. Since that 'comeback', I appreciate life more. I told myself that I will not waste time on negative things. I will only do things that make me happy, no matter how big or small, with the people I love.

- You shared on your personal page that you just had another memorable birthday?

My birthday this year will also be unforgettable. It was the day of recording the show “Who will be a child star” in which I was a coach.

Director Phuong Uyen then mobilized all the coaches and contestants to come up on stage to take souvenir photos. I still thought it was a normal activity during the recording session until the production team brought out a cake and candles to celebrate the birthday.

Nearly a hundred people in the studio sang happy birthday to me that day. It was an emotional moment that I will never forget.

Le Minh has had two "unforgettable" birthdays in his singing career.

I feel like I've started a new life.

- I think that an artist celebrating their birthday on stage is not a new thing?

For me, this was the first time I had such a large group of people sing happy birthday to me. But the important thing for me was that I felt like I was really back to work, back on stage.

In the joyful, happy emotions of that day, the gloomy, pessimistic images of last year came flooding back, making me feel like I had started a new life. Around me at that time were the production team, Ms. Phuong Uyen, Thanh Thao, Thien Vuong, Anh Tuan, Thuy Tien and the innocent, carefree and talented contestants.

MTV has been singing, releasing music, and doing many other things for many years, but we have never participated in a TV show for a long time. With this show, we feel like we not only have a new experience, but also have young friends who sing very well and have very interesting personalities.

- What would you say about your little friends?

I can only use the word interesting to describe them. Even in the MTV team, there are two clearest evidences.

Gia Kiet is a contestant from Da Nang. When we first met, we saw that he was very gentle and a bit shy. On stage, Gia Kiet always appeared dignified with his songs and his voice was quite 'firm'. Later, when we became closer, we discovered that Gia Kiet was mischievous and mischievous, and could be considered a 'neighborhood boss'.

In contrast to Gia Kiet is Nghien Lan. This girl was nicknamed “Siu Pink” by the King of Heaven in the qualifying round because she sang passionately like Siu but her costumes were as pink and cute as a princess. On stage, she was like that but when she stepped out of the spotlight, Nghien Lan was very shy and embarrassed.

What you guys have in common is that you love music and your talent is undeniable. In episode 8, the MTV team was very worried when Gia Kiet had to sing “Hon Vong Phu 3” and Nghien Lan had to sing “Ngau o thuong nho”, which are really difficult songs for your age. Surely the audience will experience the same surprise and excitement as MTV did when watching you guys perform.
