Arrested for transporting 10kg of crystal meth and 20,000 synthetic drug pills

The arrest of the drug trafficker took place at 3:00 p.m. on October 14 at km 80+500 on National Highway 8A in the border commune of Son Kim 1, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh).

On the evening of October 14, at the Cau Treo International Border Guard Station, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC47) of Ha Tinh Police, Ha Tinh Customs Department and Cau Treo International Border Guard Station took Xong Dua Dong's statement.

Dong was caught red-handed while transporting two backpacks containing 10kg of crystal meth and 20,000 synthetic drug pills.

According to the statement, Xong Dua Dong, 31 years old, from Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district (Nghe An), currently residing in Nong Pong village, Kham Cot district, Bolikhamxay province (Laos).

At dawn on October 14, Dong cut through the forest and went from Laos through the Cau Treo border gate to Son Kim Eco-tourism Area to look for money (90,000 USD) and to trade drugs.

After the transaction was completed, Dong went up to the left wing of the border gate to receive the goods delivered by Xong Xo Xeng.

Dong agreed to transport the above drugs to Tay Son town for a fee of 500 USD. When he got there, Dong collapsed and fainted.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Manh Tam, deputy head of the Drug and Crime Prevention Department (Ha Tinh Border Guard Command), who directly knocked down Xong Dua Dong, said: "Before the arrest took place, two subjects brought two backpacks and handed them to Dong at the left wing of the border gate. After that, Dong carried one backpack in front of his chest and one backpack on his back and cut through the forest for 7km. When he reached the end of the forest near Highway 8A, Dong used his phone to call a "xe tho" to pick up the goods and transport them downstream.

At the same time, scouts from the Border Guard and Ha Tinh Police continued to use two cars to follow the subject closely.

When leaving the range of the two people delivering the goods to Dong with their AK rifles, the scouts overtook him, blocked his way and locked his tail to capture Dong at km 80+500. Dong struggled and tried to escape but could not escape the encirclement of the anti-drug force.
