Previously, after a period of monitoring, on the afternoon of June 29, forces including the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Central Highlands Security Department and Dak Lak Provincial Police raided and arrested more than 100 subjects and many related assets.
All of these gamblers were from different provinces and cities. By the time of the raid, this gambling den had been operating for a long time and frequently moved locations, always assigning guards to avoid detection by authorities. The organizers also provided loans and mortgaged assets on the spot for gamblers.
The method of these subjects is to gamble in the form of shaking the dice. The subjects organize and establish a company and then use 16-seat, 12-seat, and 7-seat vehicles to transport the uncle's children to the casino.
Many gamblers who participate in this gambling den have criminal records, so they are extremely reckless and impulsive.
At the scene, the police seized hundreds of millions of dong in cash, 16 cars, 2 motorbikes, 41 cell phones, a number of machetes, knives and many other items related to gambling.
According to Major General Ho Sy Tien, the largest gambling case ever discovered and arrested in the Central Highlands.
Gambling dens are organized on a large scale, operate very sophisticatedly, and frequently change gambling locations, often in complex, difficult-to-access areas, deep in coffee plantations, or in places with access to unique roads that only locals can pass through. When strangers appear, they will be immediately detected.
Before organizing gambling, the subjects will gather gamblers at locations in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province, then send cars to pick them up and take them to the gambling den. When the gamblers get on the car, they will be checked. If they are familiar gamblers, they will let them in. If they discover strangers, they will stop them and not let them into the gambling den.
From the above characteristics, the fight to eradicate it encounters many difficulties.
When the arrest warrant was issued for the defendants to be detained, the five subjects Nguyen Quoc Ngoc, Thach Vuong, Vo Quoc Anh, Nguyen Van Quang, and Vo Phi Son escaped.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Department has issued a wanted notice for the suspects for the above-mentioned acts. Anyone who knows where the suspects are hiding should immediately report to the nearest police station.
