In this match, West Ham controlled the ball twice as much as Brighton (West Ham held the ball 66%), but coach Slaven Bilic's players played deadlocked against the crowded defense of the away team.

Not only that, with a loose defense, West Ham had to pick the ball out of the net 3 times after Brighton's counter-attacks. The players who scored the winning goals for Brighton were: Glenn Murray (10', 75') and Jose Izquierdo (45').

Losing this match, West Ham fell to 17th place with 8 points, 2 points above the relegation group.
